Wei Hsiang Liao (mit) is a Taiwanese photographer based in Paris. His practice began with a decade of street photography and has gradually shifted toward a quieter observation of everyday life. He is drawn to what often goes unnoticed — the banal street corner, the temporary arrangement, the faint trace left by human presence.
Rather than seeking the spectacular or the decisive moment, he explores the subtle disruptions that unfold within ordinary spaces. His images linger on objects and surfaces that may seem insignificant yet hold an unexpected visual tension. Through these details, he reflects on how human activity reshapes the world in ways that are both fragile and profound.
Wei Hsiang believes a good photograph invites attention — a way of looking that allows us to find resonance in the mundane and to discover form and emotion where nothing seems to happen.
